St. Joseph the Worker Parish wishes to congratulate all of our couples who were recently engaged over the holidays! What a joyous time for you and your families! Click Here to learn more!
All are welcome to attend a special Mass on Thursday, February 2 at 7:00PM at Word of God Church. The Catholic Church observes the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord on February 2. This feast day honors Jesus Christ's presentation in the Temple when he was a young child, by Joseph and Mary. Father Cassian will be celebrating Mass, which will begin with a candle-lit procession in the Church. We encourage those attending the Mass to participate in the procession and to bring candles from home to be blessed during Mass. We hope many of our parishioners can attend.
Father Frank Almade discusses the future of Saint Joseph the Worker Parish, Pittsburgh, PA. Father Frank presented these comments at Town Hall meetings held in each of the churches of the parish during the month of November 2022.

Parishioners are invited to attend one of the eight Town Hall meetings that are scheduled, all sessions will take place in our Church buildings. The same information will be shared at each presentation so people can go to any meeting that their schedules can accommodate.

Thanks to the members of the SJW Choir who joined voices with the Temple David Synagogue Choir last night at a Memorial Service for those slain in the Tree of Life shooting 4 years ago. Thanks also to Rabbi Barbara Symons and members of the Temple David community for welcoming our participation in this powerful event, and to Fr Frank Almade and the numerous SJW parishioners who were in attendance. WTAE TV was there to cover the event. Thanks to Mike Clark and the WTAE crew for their wonderful coverage! The link below allows you to see the story they aired on their newcasts, along with a video of our combined choirs singing Leon Sher's powerful "Heal Us Now." https://www.wtae.com/article/honors-rose-mallinger-monroeville-synagogue-tree-of-life-4-year/41796073# May we continue to foster the beautiful relationship between our congregations for years to come!
Beginning this October we will present Living the Eucharist series. Living the Eucharist is a small, faith sharing series that allows each of the participants to learn more about the Eucharist and the Mass through scripture. It really looks like an amazing series and we hope you'll be a part of it to make it dynamic. The series is six weeks in length, and we are offering two times for folks to choose from... both sessions are on Wednesdays. The first session starts at 10:15 AM (perfect for our daily Mass folks to attend) and the second session begins at 7PM. Each session will last about 60-90 minutes. Click here for more information.
