Each Advent season, our Parish has a tradition of having families and individuals light the Advent Wreath at the beginning of all weekend Masses. This is a beautiful way to take a very special part in the Mass and invite everyone at Mass to prepare for the birth of our Savior. We invite our parishioners to join us in this lovely tradition again this year. If you or your family would be interested in lighting the Advent Wreath during the weekend Masses of Advent, we ask that you please reach out to Cheryl Kirkland at 412-351-6710 or ckirkland@sjwpitt,org to sign up for a week or two. If you are new to our Parish-- we hope you will make lighting the Advent Wreath a new tradition for your family and if you are a long standing parishioner, we are honored that you have chosen to continue this tradition with your parish family.
Many thanks to everyone who came out for our November Parish Dinner last Saturday at St. John Fisher's Beaufort Hall. We had a great turn out of folks who came to support the Parish by buying a delicious chicken dinner (and we sold out of the dinners), by buying our handmade pierogi (and we sold out of our pierogi), enjoying the wonderful treats at our Bake Sale and the many kind souls who volunteered to set up, cook, clean, serve and manage the dinner.
