On Sunday, August 13, eight members of St. Joseph the Worker Parish were honored at St. Paul's Cathedral for the Diocese of Pittsburgh's Manifesting the Kingdom Awards. Congratulations to Pat Lanigan, Elaine Clugston, Paul Osterman, Peggy Keene, Don Sanker, Liz Kostandinu, Sonny Cheripka and Marcie Kustra on this well deserved honor. The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) Team will work with you to prepare you to enter the Catholic Church. The Inquiry Period is happening now and our sessions will begin in October.

THE DISCIPLE MAKER INDEX SURVEY RESULTS ARE COMING

The bake sale contributed over $1,700.00 to the festival's total profits. We had our first annual St. Joseph the Worker parish baking contest. There were a total of 19 entries. The winners of this first contest are as follows: 
Best Pie - Anita Payne with her delicious Apple Pie.
Best Cookie - Marci Mason with her tasty Nut Horns.
Best Cake - Rachel McCool with her moist and tasty Smashed Raspberry White Chocolate Cake.
Best Nut Rolls - Mary Anne Ferris with her beautiful Nut Rolls.
Grand Prize Winner - Rachel McCool with her Smashed  Raspberry White  Chocolate Cake.
We thank all the participants for their efforts this year. We look forward to having more entries next year. We also thank all the bakers who contributed to the success of the bake sale.
