Hospitality is at the heart of our faith, and our church greeters are the first to extend Christ’s love to all who enter our doors. As the first representatives of our parish, greeters create a welcoming atmosphere where every person—parishioner or visitor—feels embraced, valued, and at home in the community of faith.
Welcome all as Christ, offering a warm smile and friendly greeting to everyone who enters
Assist with hospitality, helping new visitors find their way and making all feel comfortable
Distribute worship aids and bulletins, ensuring parishioners have what they need for Mass
Provide a sense of belonging, recognizing that even a simple gesture of kindness can make a difference in someone’s faith journey
Represent the parish, setting the tone for a joyful and reverent worship experience
Anyone with a warm heart and a welcoming spirit can serve in this ministry! Ideal greeters:
Enjoy meeting and engaging with others
Have a joyful and hospitable attitude
Are reliable and arrive early to greet parishioners before Mass
Recognize that their role is not just functional, but a true ministry of evangelization
Greeters of all ages—individuals, couples, and even families—are encouraged to serve together in this vital ministry.
If you feel called to extend Christ’s love through this ministry of welcome, we would love to have you join our team! To learn more or to sign up, please contact Norm Chapman at [email protected].
Help us make Saint Joseph the Worker Parish a place where all who enter encounter the love of Christ from the very first moment!
