Continuing a tradition that dates back nearly 40 years in our previous parishes, the St. Joseph the Worker Music Ministry Festival of Nine Lessons & Carols intersperses readings from scripture with choral selections from our choirs to retell the story of the Nativity of our Lord. By reaching back to humankind's earliest contact with God, the story of Adam and Eve, then through the words of the prophets, and finally to the story of Christ's humble birth, the Festival of Nine Lessons & Carols offers attendees a stirring reminder of the real reason for the Advent / Christmas Season.
The SJW Choirs are joined by the Good Shepherd Ringers, and are accompanied by Radiant Strings Quartet, flutist Jeff Kandra and pianist Chris Catone, under the direction of Norm Chapman.
Lessons & Carols is held each year at St. Maurice Church, 2001 Ardmore Blvd, Forest Hills, PA. You can click on the address for a Google Map.

The ancient Tenebrae Service dates back to the early years of the church. Coming from the Latin word meaning “Shadows,” Tenebrae depicts the flight of the disciples and the approaching crucifixion through the extinguishing of candles and the dimming of lights. Our service features Meditations on the Seven Last Words of Christ, prayer and choral selections by the SJW Choir and a string quartet, under the direction of our Director of Music Ministries, Norm Chapman. Tenebrae is an unforgettable experience for all who attend.
Tenebrae will be held at St. John Fisher Church, 33 Lewin Lane, Churchill, PA. You can click on the address for a Google Map.
